Russell Egan is an intellectual property attorney with extensive
experience interacting with inventors to obtain patent protection
for their properties.  This includes novelty, infringement and
validity searches and opinions, application preparation and
prosecution, appeals and interferences, and other needs as they
arise.  He has obtained over 500 domestic and foreign patents for
individuals and corporations covering a wide range of technologies
and subject matter.  His clients range from Fortune 500 corporations
such as Texaco to small, single member entities.
Mr. Egan has been responsible for numerous trademark applications
and prosecution, and appeals and interferences.  He performs validity
searches and opinions and negotiates contracts, licenses and agreements.
In addition, his background includes working with both federal and state
agencies and pre-trial work in litigation.  He is able to successfully obtain
and defend trademarks, both in the United States and abroad.
Working with the appropriate agencies, Mr Egan can assist intellectual
property developers with copyright protection of their works and actively
assists in prosecution of copyright infringements and interferences, both
foreign and domestic.
 
Mr. Egan's education includes a bachelor's degree in pre-law and
engineering from Penn State and a Juris Doctor from George Washington
University. 

He holds licenses in the District of Columbia, Court of Appeals for the
District of Columbia, State Bars of both Virginia and Texas, Patent and
Trademark Office Bar, Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and the
United States Supreme Court.

Mr. Egan has authored numerous intellectual property instructional
manuals as well as articles on various aspects of intellectual property
for three major corporations.  He is a frequent guest speaker for local
media, a board member of Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Greater
Houston, and serves on several committees of the American Intellectual
Property Law Association.
